The Pad Nightclub

In a back-street in Bedford called Lurke Street there is an old terrace house that many moons ago was converted into a nightclub (in days gone by it was called ‘Winkles’ and also the ‘Limehaus’) and now answers to – The Pad. For years it hosted midweek indie nights starting wayback in 1982, while entertaining the masses at weekends. Now the tables have turned and since it opened in June 2002 The Pad hosts the best ‘n’ busiest ‘Indie’ based nights every Saturday and a more ecletic dance based programme on a friday with various special guests.

Run by and for music lovers firstly the club set out to bring something different to Bedford’s night-life representing most forms of underground music. Now entering our eighth year the Pad has settled into a nice routine with a diet of indie based music bringing some packed weekend nights and a heaving dancefloor to Bedford’s music scene. If it sounds like your cup of tea then knocking three times on the door should get you let in.
