The Doctors Orders & Dephect Presents: Med & Blu

There are few MC’s who have managed to make such a huge impression on the underground scene without denting the consciousness of the mainstream. Tonight we are blessed to rare UK appearances by not one but two artists who fit into this category in the shape of Stones Throw Record’s MED and South California’s Blu.

Blu exploded onto the scene through his work with producer Exile on the instant classic ‘Below The Heavens’. He has done his reputation as one of the most creative and thoughtful lyricists no harm since with the release of ‘Johnson & Johnson’, ‘Jesus’ & his much leaked major label debut ‘No York’ both of which feature production by A-listers including Alchemist. Madlib & Flying Lotus.

Fellow west cost hero MED has a equally impressive stable of producers behind him. Having made his debut with Madlib produced Lootpack he has blessed beats from Dilla, Just Blaze and Oh No. It is little wonder considering the man’s stunning breathe control and his no holds barred wordplay. His latest full length album ‘Classic’ (Stones Throw) is just that, a bonafide underground classic.

This opportunity to see and hear these two rock a London stage together is not to be missed and if their presence was not enough for you then London’s own Piff Gang will be getting the stage warmed up with his witty takes on life in the capital while Spin Doctor & Chris P Cuts set the mood on the decks.
