NokturnAl aka (ALEC COLLINSON) started his musical journey when he first picked up the guitar in 1984 aged 5 years old. In 1990 Alec went on to joining a 4 piece Blues band playing rhythm and lead guitar between 2-3 times a week for 8 years, and although he left and found another passion has carried on with this passion of his still to this very day.

Alec left the blues band in 1998 and a year later in 1999 found a new passion in music and started to learn to mix. A couple years later Al then landed his first set for Premonition @ Candy Store Plymouth. Alec played 6 sets for premonition and then landed a residency which lead to NokturnAl being one of the most popular names on the scene in the southwest in playing Hard Dance/ Hardstyle & Techno and was descirbed being known as a tech trance wizard and always managed to put his own mark on his music style when he played out.

After 4 years Al’s music taste changed and went on to becoming a trance DJ and left Premonition and went onto playing for After Dark as a regular guest.

Since this time Al has been experimenting with his musical passion and has now come back with a Unique sound for the scene in the Southwest. Alec can only be described as a multi genre DJ he is playing anything from progressive, house, tech house, electro, breaks, dnb, dub & blues as you will hear in the exclusive clubnet uk mix.

Today Alec is making a comeback running his own night with partner Carrie Beer taking the southwest by storm with their mutli genre versatile night FILTHY ANIMAL. NokturnAl has recently been seen at GoodGreef, Slinky and Obsession and has plenty of events coming up in the near future.
