Dan Apicella is one of the UK’s brightest talents and rising stars. Already with a string of successful releases and remixes under his belt, a thriving record label and a brand new monthly podcast, he’s been taking the scene by storm as he lights up everything he touches.

The man behind the name:

Dan Apicella started his music career at one of the top music academies, ACM in Guildford, UK. During this time there he studied and completed a greatly respected HND in Contemporary Music / Production. After passing with flying colours and fueled by his knowledge and understanding gained from the course, he successfully set up his own record label SPX DIGITAL.

The label has been described by many top leading industry figure heads as one of the most forward thinking and diverse record labels to have come into fruition in the last two years, with many releases gaining key Radio 1 airplay along with continued A-list support around the globe, not to mention many appearing on well known leading compilations such as ARMADA, MONSTER TUNES, ENHANCED, MONDO RECORDS & UNDERGROUND IBIZA.

The producer:

As a producer Dan has already had a number of huge releases to his credit, best known for his work under the alias of U4IC DJ’s, his original and collaborative productions such as FULL THROTTLE, GENERATION, BIG TOP & 3 SPIRIT have all gained global success. GENERATION has been the biggest to date where it received 3 consecutive weeks on Radio 1 by Judge Jules & Dave Pearce. Also a major part of the live act NRAPTURE, he took on the all time classic trance track ITS MY TURN by DARREN TATE & JUDGE JULES under their guise ANGELIC. His mix became a global smash and really got many eyes focusing on his talents in the studio.

In 2010 he began to really express himself as a solo artist, taking on remixes and working on a number of original productions. His remixes have already gained a massive amount of support from some of the biggest names around the globe and his original productions are about to see light in 2011; the buzz is at boiling point.

The DJ:

Over the past five years Dan has performed at some of the biggest high profile events in the UK. With many appearances for SLINKY at the OPERA HOUSE/O2 ARENA , BRIXTON ACADEMY, MINISTRY OF SOUND, HEAVEN, SE1, BRUNEL ROOMS, TDK PAUL OAKENFOLD ALBUM LAUNCH TOUR and ELEMENTS.

He also continually demonstrates his versatility as a DJ by headlining events such as the unique and quirky 18th Century Spitbank Fort, a mile out to sea off the south coast of England. Now in 2011 his demand as a performer continues to increase at an amazing rate as more and more promoters continue to book him for prestigious events.

Radio / Podcast:

2010 saw the launch of his brand new podcast the Sound Proj-x Show, following on from his successful collaboration with Corderoy on Slinky.fm, his new show will carry on from where they left off. Featuring guest mixes and interviews from the crème de la crème of DJ and producer talent, the successful show is now available to download from Itunes on a monthly basis as well as being aired on other leading international Internet stations.
